I skipped a day of running. The temperatures were super cold again, but the wind was intense. The buses were cancelled the next day, so the children stayed home from school. That then turned out to be the day I went for a run.
I went running on my running track which is down in a valley of sorts so it protected me from the wind. Well, a little bit. I was covered. My skin that saw any daylight felt burned at first. Once the body temperature rose it wasn't too bad. "They" say that you should dress for 20 C higher than the temperature outside. I think in this particular case with a windchill there is no way you could do that. It was -26 C with a windchill that made it closer to -38 C. Yikes. Did this slow me down? Yes, I was considerably slower bundled up, but I still managed to get out there.
I ran 2 miles. Miserable weather. Bright beautiful sun though. I can't complain. Or can I?
